"Spouse Appreciation"

Last Friday, I got to go on a flight in the T-1 (the jet that Eric is flying these days). It was a great experience. It was so last minute that I really had to scramble, but Lisa (bless you!), made it all possible. She watched both of the gremlins while I was briefed, took pictures and finally boarded the plane bound for Tulsa. We flew for about an hour. There were three of us "spouses" on the plane and 2 crew members. We had headsets on so we could hear the uncomfortable, halting banter between two pilots who seemingly had not flown together much if at all. That was one of my favorite parts of the ride.
The formation flying was good too, of course. Also, they did "pretend" refueling. There is a more technical name for it but it escapes me. I was grouped with two complete strangers which is always very intimidating for me, but they were really friendly (they were lots higher on the military food chain than myself).

I am really happy that I had the opportunity to see what Eric does every day when he disappears in his coveralls for 10 hours. But as much as Eric was psyched to have me see what he's been up to, the general consensus among the wives was that we would no longer tolerate any sort of complaint because what they do for "work" is pretty dang fun.

Just checking in on the Krunks. I am jealous you got to fly, but I got a little motion sick just writing about it, so...
Thanks for the tag. I really liked reading about your husband. That was a weird sentence. Anyway. I need to send you an email. Or maybe I could call. That's an idea.
