New Digs

So just a quick post to show off our new home. It's pretty pathetic because this really is "home" right now- once we check out of this 4-star palace, we are officially homeless. But we've got a good 4 months before that happens so why worry about little details now, right?

Welcome to my kitchen! This is me luxuriating in the wide open expanses (I know I look a little creepy, sorry 'bout that).

This is my sink where I can place one small plate at a time. Great planning on somebody's part. People eat off of plates. They drink out of glasses. Big ones sometimes. Was it REALLY that much more expensive to install full size sinks?

We went to our new ward today. Wow, the chapel has 6 rows of pews. SIX! The overflow has about 10. It's a very tiny ward but seems very friendly so far. Eric and I were stuffing the 'church bag' with our mess and getting ready to make a hasty escape before being spotted but I am not exaggerating when I say it was about four seconds after 'Amen' that someone was at our side. Someone from the bishopric giving us paperwork. Luckily they seem really familiar with the whole TDY thing. Another woman came up and grabbed my hand and said "You are the cutest thing I've ever seen- what's your name?" And I said "My name is Hillarie and I like you!" She was really nice. Obviously. It was a good first Sunday, maybe next time we'll stay the whole 3 hours.......

Is it okay if we pass on Altus? I am thinking two families crammed in that adorable space might be a little too "friendly". Then again, we are family!

Oh. My. Gosh. That sink is insane!!! Seriously, did they think a family of mice would be living there? YIKES. Even if you'll be officially 'homeless' in a few months, the good news is that ANYPLACE after Altus will feel like a mansion! Anyway, I miss you guys so much! Hang in there.

Hey Hillarie-
So you weren't kiddin' 'bout the size of your new crib!
What an adventure. I am so glad that we had the chance to catch up today. And I feel even more caught up after reading all of your posts! What a great way to keep in touch. Your girls are beautiful and Frannie's hair is to die for! :) Talk to you soon.
Love,
Mindy

Oh my heck. I think the small size of that sink is going to kill me, and I'm not even there yet. Truthfully, I'm getting really scared about living in a hotel. Ugh. Glad the ward is so...friendly. :)
